Moriah Carney – Director/Lead Teacher

Hello!  My name is Moriah and I am currently the Director/Lead Teacher for West Bee Nursery School.  I started here in August of 2005.  Growing up I always knew I wanted to be a teacher.  SO... after I graduated from high school I attended Lyndon State College where I earned my BS in Elementary Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education.  I received my VT Educator's License in 2003.  Shortly after collage I moved to Boulder, CO. I was the lead teacher in a Toddler classroom until there was an opening in the Preschool classroom at Children's World Learning Center. After a few years out west I decided to move back to New England, closer to family and friends.  I have had many roles as an educator: summer school teacher, tutor for high school students with bi-polar and schizophrenia, daycare assistant, toddler room teacher, Pre-K teacher, Babe Ruth coach & AmericaReads volunteer. Currently  I am an active member in the Windham Early Childhood Education community, I am part of Building Bright Futures, a founding memeber of the Early Childhood Education Collaborative, I sit on the Professional Development Committee,  the United Way Grant Committee and I am a Mentor for Windham Child Care Assoication. Someday I hope to run my own child development center for preschool children. On May 12, 2012 I had my first child, Zanayah Destiny. She is my true Miracle, because of her I am now able to understand child development as an educator and a parent. I can't wait to embark on the special journey that lies ahead of us, and I thank you for trusting me with one of your most precious gifts...your child.

Justine Amey – Teacher's Assistant

Hi, my name is Justine and I am a teacher's assistant here at West Bee Nursery school. Two years ago  I was a 1:1 at West bee and the year before I was a long-term substitute. I moved to Brattleboro in 2010, almost a year after my son Terrel was born. I have previously taught in a preschool classroom, worked with an Autistic boy for 3 year and was a nanny for three different families. I truly believe that PLAY is one of the fundamental vehicles to LEARNING.
