West Bee Nursery School

West Bee Nursery School is open to the public on a first come, first serve basis. Three to five-year-old children are accepted until the class reaches capacity with the remainder of applicants to be placed on a waiting list. Children must be three years of age by September 1. A child whose birthday falls between September 1 and September 15 may be admitted with approval by the Board and Director.

West Bee admits students of any race, color, nationality, or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate based on race, color, nationality, or ethnic origin in administration of its policies.

West Bee Nursery School is an inclusive classroom, enrolling children of all developmental abilities, disabilities, and special needs. West Bee works closely with community resources to provide children with the individual instruction they may need to grow in all areas of their development; social, emotional, physical, and cognitive. With the guidance of family's West Bee uses the Ages and Stages questioner to gage student’s development upon entering the program.

West Bee Nursery School spends at least 50% of the day in nature. Students explore, learn, and discover many skills, such as curiosity, persistence, problem-solving, creativity, risk-taking and resilience. Nature is infused into many aspects of our program. We foster inquiry-based learning through play and hands-on discovery. This means the curriculum is emergent (i.e., based on children’s interests), given the time spent outdoors many experiences are developed in the seasonal happenings of nature.
